This week my guest is Laila Shabir, the chief executive officer of Learn District, an educational games studio.
Two years ago she put her team's game on hold to launch a new project, called Girls Make Games. From a single summer camp in Silicon Valley, Girls Make Games has grown into an international event. This year it will pull in girls from 15 countries plus the United States and teach them how to make games.
But how did an immigrant from the United Arab Emirates come to create such a program? Listen to her explain it in her own words.
